John Williams (Clinic Director)
John is the Clinic Director of the Atlas Pain Relief Centre group of clinics which have physiotherapy Clinics in Tamworth and Solihull, Birmingham
John, an Osteopath and HPC (state registered) physiotherapist has vast experience in Sports Injuries and spent time at Tamworth Football Club as first team Physiotherapist and has also treated the Golf Professionals at The Belfry Hotel and Golf Club nr Tamworth Staffordshire.
He has an extensive and loyal client-base and is well respected within the sports arena with numerous professional and semi professional patients.
Working with or treating the likes of Sports stars Kelly Holmes,
Westlife, television star Johnny Briggs, British Showjumping Champion Robert Smith, singer Amy Winehouse, former England soccer stars Peter Shilton and Des Walker, Aston Villas Ian Taylor and Coventry City casualty David Busst. John has developed “ the fast recovery reputation “ which is good news for Back Pain and Sports Injury sufferers.
John is an experienced lecturer and has taught on a BSc Degree programme in Sports Therapy as well as lecturing to NHS Physiotherapists in Solihull on the subject of low back pain and is a consultant on sports injuries and back pain for a major Sports Injuries website.
John was a lecturer and trainer for the Fitness Industry leaders “Premier Training” and was also responsible for developing personal trainers and fitness instructors in the subject of exercise prescription.
John a Bupa recognised Osteopath and HPC registered UK Athletics Physiotherapist has added Acupuncture to his list of skills and is a recognised provider for all major private health insurance companies.
John has always been involved in sport and in the past has taught karate, played soccer and ran both half marathon and marathon distances. Running injuries are of special interest to John, and the team at Atlas are proud to be on the approved list of running injury clinics for the Flora London Marathon.
John supports the London Marathon and has set up a new website to support runners of the 2010 Virgin London Marathon. The website www.londonmarathon-runninginjuryclinics.co.uk is designed to provide London Marathon runners with Marathon training programmes and tips on injury prevention as well as a list of running injury clinics nationwide.
Peter Taylor (HPC registered Physiotherapist and Podiatrist)
An impressive runner himself, Peter Taylor has recorded 1 hour 10 mins when winning the Burton Half Marathon
Peter now concentrates on physiotherapy and treating runners with running injuries and providing sports massage
Peter is a member at Atlas Physiotherapy Clinic in Tamworth and Solihull, Birmingham and a top flight Sports Therapist previously employed by the Birmingham City Football Club Academy. Peter looked after young football professionals such as Andy Johnson (England International).
Peter has been actively involved in setting up and providing treatments in community projects around Birmingham promoting health and fitness for the elderly. He has many years experience in treating back pain and backache with great success.
Physiotherapist Peter from Solihull now has a degree in Podiatry / Chiropody to his list of qualifications and is head of the Atlas Running Injury Clinics in Solihull, Birmingham and Tamworth, Staffordshire.
Peter can also offer video gait analysis, biomechanical assessments, laser foot scanning and supply and fit custom fitted prescription orthotics for over pronated feet. As a therapist, Peter’s skills in Sports Massage are always in demand.
Peter has experience treating some of the UK’s strongest men. Fraser Tranter of televisions Britain’s strongest man competitions, Keith Thompson former UK power lifting champion, Johnny Neighbour former World power lifting champion, Mark Santini former welterweight ABA boxing champion and International Triathletes Preston Eckloff and Clive Middleton. World endurance champion Paddy Doyle has been a regular visitor for Peter’s skills
Peter is also registered as both a Physiotherapist and Podiatrist with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and has many years experience diagnosing and treating sports injuries.
